View Full Version : Installing Slimserver on Qnap TS-101

I'm considering buying a Qnap TS-101 NAS box. As the TS-101 is not
available with the Slimserver software pre-installed here in Germany,
I'm wondering if Slimserver can be installed on a TS-101 running the
standard firmware.

Somewhere in the forums I read that Progressive Consumer Electronics
was supposed to publish a version of the firmware including Slimserver
that can be installed on a standard TS-101 later this year, but I
didn't see any followups.

Thanks!

Regards,

Oliver,

You may but better off looking at the TS-201 if the budget will stretch. In my experience SS 6.5 has taken the TS-101 to the limit and you maybe disappointed. This is not because the TS-101 is bad it is just designed as a NAS device and therefore the processor and memory are very limited. The TS-201 has more memory.
