View Full Version : Fonts - wierd naming and SqueezeboxG Fonts Plugin

A two part query:

I've just installed SqueezeboxG Fonts by Bob Vilhelm (obtained via plugins page) into my Windows 6.51 installation. Although I've put them into the SlimServer/server/Graphics directory as instructed they do not show up as font options in Player Settings/Display. Does anyone have them working sucessfully? This for my Transporter and SB3.

Which leads me to this....

The default font titles listed in the GUI are not too clear (and the capitalisation is odd):

full
High
light
standard
threeline

I wanted only the two largest fonts to cycle using the remote so picked full and High... and recieved one large font and one very, very small font. I'll try them all tonight to find which are the two largest, but really I'd like the plugin fonts to work too as they might be the clearest ones.

Anyone got any previous experience?
Thanks,

MC

The SqueezeboxG fonts are for the SBG display, which is unique to the "second generation" SB1. They won't work on the SB2/3 or Transporter.

I'm also trying to change the fonts in SB3. I found this photo of a SB3 box with a custom font. Does anyone know how it was done? Meaning installed into the SB3. Is there another source of the customized fonts other than SqueezeboxG Fonts by Bob Vilhelm?

Sure that's a font? Looks like a bug with text superimposed over the
VU screensaver.

Anyway, in your server's web interface, click Help > Technical
Information > Font Files.

Somewhere on the forums there is probably a link to a windows program called: TTFtoSB2 which allows SB2 fonts to be created from windows TTF fonts. Its probably on the wiki too.

Please note the font filename requirements defined in the help section.
