when i try to upgrade to the latest daily i get an error that access is denied to replace mysql.exe. I assume that is because windows has a mysql process running. can i end this process or is there a way to quit out of it? thanks

What procedure are you using to upgrade? Have you stopped SlimServer before trying to update? Theoretically, that _should_ stop the SlimServer-installed MySQL.

Then again, I think someone recently thought that it would be a good idea to install SlimServer's MySQL as a Windows service. Maybe they forgot to have SlimServer shut down that service when SlimServer stops. Check your Windows services in:

Start > Settings > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services

and see if there's a service named "SlimServerMySQL" still running after you shut down SlimServer.

after checking the services control panel i do see that mysql is running even after slimserver is stopped. stopping this service allows me to upgrade. thanks!

All I've found is to go to task manager and kill the mysql.exe process
manually. It donesn't appear to do any harm.
