Now that the Transporter is working its way to the first owner's hands, lots of people are waiting to hear about this new piece of hardware:
How does it compare to the SB?
Does it live up to the hype / expectations?
How does 128k compare to 192k, 256k and FLAC? Where is the sweet spot?
Tell us about your system.

I think you'd find most stories in the audiophile forum (where most Tx
owners might be active).

Great :-). Even my gf (who isn't too much into music listening) noticed
during dinner, while the Tx was playing in the background, that it sounded
better. I did not even have to ask her :-). Afterwards we did some test
listening with a synchronized SB on the same amp, switching in between the
two. The difference is more obvious than I had thought (even with some of
my - please forgive me - 128k MP3s...).

How can that be?!? 128K mp3s have no top, no bottom and a flat middle. If the SB3 can't even faithfully reproduce a 128K mp3, it must be a real POS!!

Just received my transporter 2 days ago, replacing my SB3. Definitely better, Far better. Soundstage, accuracy, details ( i REALLY discover NEW sounds even on tunes i used as a tester for my whole HIFI purchases in the last 10 years).

No doubt: the best price performance High end source available in the market.

now. 2 majors precisions

- Will this price performance better than SB3 ( ie is the music 8 times better than with the sb3 ). obviously NO. Best Absolute/price performance is on the Sb3 ( or maybe roku and alike that i dont know)

- The SW...I already posted several issues and i do SHOUT again that the quality of the Slimserver SW is just CRAP since 6.5. Album duplicated, crash when scan, freezes, etc.. read all the forums posts and u realise how poor is the reliability/stability of the SW.
A real shame and frustration, as the sound - WHEN THE ABOVE WORKS - is extraordinary. in fact, you just hear MUSIC, not just sound.. and this is really GOOOOOOD. But you have to be a guru of tag management, nightly releases install and reinstall, scan and rescan, to get 100 % of it :-(

Hi,

I've just got my Transporter today. Congratulations to Sean Adams and the Slimdevice's team for this beautiful piece of technology !

The sound is indredibly natural and so pure, the bass/medium are perfectly controlled and more, the design is amazing ! I just can't stop listening to it. I live in Belgium where your products are not very known but that will not last, believe me... You have now a number one supporter here !
