In 6.0.X and below tracks.thumb got populated in the scan with the path to the cover art (/A/B/cover.jpg) in 6.5.x it seems to be NULL until you say browse a track in a given album, at which point it becomes '1'.

Is this right / normal for this version?
How should I go about finding the path to the cover art from the DB?

eg.

# right after a full scan

mysql> select title,thumb from tracks where thumb is not NULL ;
Empty set (0.07 sec)

# after browsing a track on an album

mysql> select title,thumb from tracks where thumb is not NULL ;
+-------------------------------------+-------+
| title | thumb |
+-------------------------------------+-------+
| Rock in This Pocket (Song of David) | 1 |
+-------------------------------------+-------+
1 row in set (0.03 sec)

This is on:

SlimServer Version: 6.5.1 - 10495 - Mac OS X 10.4.8 (8L2127) - EN - utf8
Perl Version: 5.8.6 darwin-thread-multi-2level
MySQL Version: 5.0.22-standard

# In /Music/working/our music/Rock & Pop/Suzanne Vega/99.9 F?
$ ls -ld cover.jpg

thumb is going away now that we have image resizing for cover art.

Just because they're complaining doesn't mean they're right.

How should an external program programmatically find the location of the cover art file then going forward?

This would be in say perl.

Thanks,

Any ideas on this? I have a script I was looking to release that used to work, but is now broken due to this change in schema.

How can I query the path to the artwork file for a given album?

Request:

/music/$trackId/cover

from the web server.
