Stand by idiot coming through…..

I am currently running a few slimp3’s (saving up for a squeeze or two☺ ) I have one room in the house (on the west wing don’t you know) that doesn’t have a slimp3, but does have speaker cable in the wall travelling back to where the pc is based. What I was wondering is….

By using a pda accessing the web page of the server, can you set it so the pda has a set ip so that the server machine can run something like winamp streaming the pda’s ip from the puter into an amp???? Can you create virtual player in the server list??

Sorry but completely new to all of it

Anyone recommend a pda for use as a remote control and to browse handheld server browser?

Cheers folks

I'm not completely following you. Some odd characters are in your e that make
it a bit confusing. If you load up winamp, you can "add URL", then type in:

http://slimserver:9000/stream.mp3

replace "slimserver" with the IP of the machine running the SlimServer software.
This will give you a "virtual" stream to the PC that is running winamp. If you
browse with your PDA to http://slimserver:9000/handheld/ then you shoudl see
this "virtual" player in the player list.
