I am trying to use the Email plugin version 1.42 (for slimserver 6.5) from http://callisto.deane-freeman.com/slimserver/, which is accessed from the Slimdevices website, but winzip comes out with the following error message "Error reading header after processing 0 entries".

Any ideas?

Sounds like an error with your download. I just downloaded it and confirmed that the file is okay. Try re-downloading and unzipping again.

tried that and it doesn't work. Looks like my winzip doesn't like .tar files, as I tried the email plug in for slimserver 6.2 which in .zip format and it works. Only problem is it is the wrong version!

managed to unzip it by downloading 7-Zip. I now have email.pm in the plugin directory, and cmd.pm and pop3.pm in the plugin\net directory. But I can't see this plug in anywhere in Slimserver. It apparently should be in Server Settings \ Plugins but it isn't. Tried rebooting which shouldn't be necessary but makes no differnce. Any thoughts?

download using save as, not open. winzip screws up the download by
renaming the file. it should end with .tar.gz,
not .tar.gz.tar

you'll also need to move the Plugins/Net/POP3.pm and Plugins/Net/CMd.pm
files to CPAN/Net/POP3.pm and CPAN/Net/Cmd.pm

thanks - seems to work in so far as I can set it up in the browser now and I have set up the pop3 account etc.. But it doesn't seem to find emails. On the SB3 I have gone to Plugins->POP3 Email browser where it says "Please wait" for a short time but then comes up with nothing. After that it just say "Press Rec to retry". No idea what "Rec" is. Any idea why it isn't working?

Many thanks for your help. I have set up the pop3 server in settings. I also tried pressing the "+" key like you suggest but nothing happens whatsoever. I set the d_http and got the following (I have no idea if it is of any use toy you!):
