Hi everyone,

A while back I opened a feature request for working out a way to listen to
MLB Gameday Audio on the SB. It is feature request 3280:
http://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=3280

I just wanted to bring it up again here in the forum, so any of you who
would like to see this can vote for the feature:
http://bugs.slimdevices.com/votes.cgi?action=show_user&bug_id=3280#vote_3280

This would require SD to negotiate with MLB, I think. Maybe now that
they're on board with Logitech they'll have a better negotiating position.
Anyway, just wanted to bring this up in the public forum again, so that
anyone else who would like to see this implemented can cast their vote.

Thanks!
Mitch

i too would love to have MLB and NFL gameday available through the squeezebox so I'll vote for it.

Given that NFL would require a completely separate set of negotiations, it
may be worth opening a separate feature request. I think the main
difficulty for either one would be working out a deal with MLB or NFL.

I'd imagine a plugin could be written independent of negotiating something with MLB. Basically it would just simulate what the user does when navigating the MLB web pages and then pass the stream URL to SlimServer to stream. It'd actually probably be fairly similar to what the Sirius plugin does now. I don't have a MLB account to look at it, but I'm guessing it wouldn't be too hard to leverage what's out there.

I have AlienBBC installed (I'm using Mac OS X) and it turns out that my Squeezebox will indeed play MLB Gameday Audio streams. But of course, what I have to do is navigate to the site, log in, get the stream playing on my Mac, and then translate the stream URL and paste it in to Slim Server.

I would assume AlienBBC or a similar tool could also be hacked to navigate the MLB structure, but who's gonna do it? ;-)

Still, the manual way isn't horrible and does seem to work.

JSnell,

I was with you until 'translate URL.' Once I'm listening to the stream from MLB.com on my computer, where do I find the URL and how do I 'translate' it so I can paste it in slimserver and stream it to my squeezebox? ...if you don't mind me asking. Thanks for the help.

I'm not a baseball fan, but I have many friends who would consider this the "killer app" and buy a squeezebox.

I would to have MLB on my SB. I am already a MLB Gameday audio subscriber.

Likewise.

I hope everyone who feels this way will cast a vote for the following
feature:
