There really isn't a "default stream". The stream is client specific. I
don't think the server has the ability to do a mulitclient server as you
wish.

Oh...bummer...so then I can't create a Christmas Channel, Jazz Channel etc?

Those who can, do. Those who can't, simulate.

no, the SlimServer isn't really an internet radio server. You CAN set up
christmas playlists and jazz playlists, then have your clients load up the
playlist of choice. There is just no single stream. Each client gets its own,
even if its a duplicate.

Hmmmmmm... I wonder if the developer gurus here could make a way to accept
some options to the server in a querystring accessing the /stream.mp3 from
ie winamp, to load ie. a playlist for that stream... that would solve your
problem, and sounds to me a very neat thing...

Example:
http://slimserver:9000/stream.mp3?p0=playlist&p1=load?p2=christmas.pls
or if possible, some more user-friendly url
http://slimserver:9000/stream.mp3?playlist=christmas.pls

Would load the specified playlist for that player automagically!!
Any developer here that finds this interesting? I know I do ;)

kind regards

you can always use the web interface. Are there many slimp3 users who have
winamp and no browser? Could also make a little CLI script to handle the task
as well.

http://slimserver:9000/status_header.html?p0=playlist&p1=load&p2=/usr/local/slimserver/playlists/Alarm.m3u&player=remoteIP

Actually, you can specify a command when a streaming client connects:

http://slimserver:9000/stream.mp3?p0=playlist&p1=load&p2=/usr/local/
slimserver/playlists/Alarm.m3u

Great! I'm glad I wasn't just thinking it was me that this would be
cool...I'm sooo impressed with the slim/squeeze community already...I
*really* hope I get one from Santa heheh..but even without the
squeezebox the server rocks.

How hard would it be to to set up default streams like
http://jukebox/ch1.mp3 http://jukebox/ch2.mp3 and still have the
http://jukebox/stream.mp3

Where ch1 and ch2 (or whatever) would be more like a radio station vs
stream.mp3 where that is controllable via the web?
