I am using my squeezebox mostly to stream .wav files and I sometimes listen to internet radio. This means that i never use the "Browse artist" or "Browse year" or any other "browse 'tag'" menu options, but i often have to navigate throught these menu options to get to what i really want: the "browse music folder" option. Is there a way to tailor the menu structure to your personal needs and to hide the menu options you never use?

Or even better, is it possible to configure the system that when you start it up, it immediately goes to the music folder and that the only thing you need to do is select the desired subfolder/song?

thanks,

jojo

In the the web interface browse to Player settings - Menus.
The player menus can be configured to your liking.

i feel very stupid, but i find all sorts of menus but i have no idea where to find the Player settings menu. Under "Settings", i have only "Server settings" as a submenu. In the "server settings" there are lots of submenus, but i can not find the player settings menu.

Player Settings should appear immediately under Server Settings.

If it doesn't, try turning the Squeezebox on, and see if it appears.

In the Default skin player settings are right below Server settings. You need to have a player connected to slimserver for the entry to show up.
In Fishbone the player settings link is in the top right corner.
