Does anyone here have any experience with satellite broadband?

It looks like its the only way i am going to be able to get a decent internet connection where i live and i was wondering what the implications are for for my SB3.

I read somewhere that Windows Media player needs to be specially set up for it, for the proxy servers i guess, so can i access the squeeze network/internet radio this way?

EDIT: BTW, it will be 1-way type satellite with the uplink over dial-up.

Sorry to hear that... but SN does support HTTP proxy servers.

It _should_ work fairly well for internet radio as it's basically bandwidth limited and the bandwidth on a satellite feed is decent. SN I'm not so sure about, the latency is terrible and so control commands etc would take a long time to arrive.

I'm sure if you google around you'll find people talking about general streaming over satellite.
