Hi,

I am using Nicecast in order to stream music to my SB2. For the past few weeks the SB2 does not get the local Nicecast stream (192.168.0.2.:8000). It can, however, get the stream from the internet. When I point the SB2 to the local stream it just says "checking stream" and nothing happens, not even an error message saying cannot connect, just nothing.
I also use Tivo for this and it gets the local stream just fine. Other machines on my network get the stream too.
Here are the settings for the server:
SlimServer Version: 6.5.0 - 9916 - Mac OS X 10.4.6 (8I127) - EN - utf8
SB2 firmware is 64.
I cannot really figure out what changed since things stopped working.
Any idea is welcome. Anyone out here is using Nicecast?

Thanks.

Make sure that the SB2 has a route directly to the nicecast server. The
stream doesn't go through SlimServer like I would have in previous versions.

Hi Ben,

how do I make sure of this? Any extra port I should open?

Well, assuming your nicecast server is on the same machine as your
SlimServer, previously SlimServer could always connect to your nicecast
server without involving any firewall. Now you have your SB trying to
connect back to the nicecast server on port 8000, so make sure that port
8000 is open between the SB and 192.168.0.2.

Yes, it is working now. I opened port 8000 on the server and also the stream address I used to use was
http://192.168.0.2.:8000/
and now it has to be
http://192.168.0.2:8000/listen.m3u

So glad it is working again. Thanks for the help.
