View Full Version : Dropouts ( Does this thing work under XP?)

When I did a Fresh install of 5.0.1 on my Clean 3.2Ghz XP machine, All is
well.
But it's really clean, I had to mount the music from the other machine..
No iTunes / Mood logic etc...

Only 10 minutes into playing music on it, but it's MUCH better (Not a single
drop-out!!!)...

Now, to figure out what's causing the problem with the other machine...

Does anyone have a list (or a quick script) of any registry keys Slim
uses...
Maybe there's an old (bad) key hanging around...

I have not noticed if there have been any others (besides you and me)
reporting problems with 5.0.1 under XP, so I will re-post my report of total
failure when I tried 5.0.1. (I was away for a week and did not carefully
read the large volume of posts that accumulated.)

I received no comments on my original post.

I am still running fine on 4.2.6.

I downloaded 5.0.1 last night and installed it on my XP machine. This
replaced my 4.2.6 that had been working fine except for the hangup in the
refresh of the windows server when minimized.

With 5.0.1 I had problems with the server browser window going blank (no
contents) and the music stopping. I have not been following the recent
threads about the server stopping when logging out, but I was not logging
out. I was just starting the server and leaving the windows browser up and
it seemed to die within the first few minutes.

After two restarts, I uninstalled and went back to 4.2.6. I did not have
time to experiment any, and leave on a trip today, so I will not try
anything else.
