I can't answer that for myself because I am having dropouts on
both XP an Linux servers.

However, I'd guess it's working for most, otherwise we'd be seeing
a lot more emails about dropouts. So far it appears to be about
3-5 of us on the list at least. No idea how many reports Dean
is getting offlist.

I'm getting a few, but I can't reproduce the dropouts here.

If there's somebody who's hearing the dropouts, running the player from
*nix and can give me a temporary login, that would be very helpful.

I've started noticing dropouts as well. I've had the same two players
for awhile now, (They both have the exposed circuit board design if
that helps define "awhile") and I've never had problems with drop outs
until the 5.0.x series. I've also started playing with downsampling,
which I hadn't played with before, and it's possible that that is
related, but it's a dedicated box with two cpu's, so even if lame
swallowed up an entire cpu to itself it shouldn't cause problems for
the server. FWIW, when I have heard drop outs, its with shuffled
playlists, and often while I'm actively pushing buttons on the web
interface.
Anyway, if you're still looking for a unix box to log into
and peek at stuff, I'm willing to set you up with at temporary ssh
account. Let me know.
