View Full Version : small bug details in 6.5.0

Maybe these have been reported, but I thought I'd mention them (the bugzilla system is not very familiar to me).
The 6.5.0 version seems to be a big improvement - again.
These are some things I noticed after using it one day:

Format
- an empty album tag is filled in with what seems to be the last known album name (should stay empty)
- any empty YEAR tag is shown as "0"

Setting / information:
- Player IP and number of players are changed.

Minor details

Thanks for the upgrade!

I'd say this is a feature: if slimserver doesn't find tag information, it
tries to do a best guess from your folder/file structure (see Server
Settings/Formatting/GUESS TAGS FORMATS)

> - any empty YEAR tag is shown as "0"

What would you except?

Could you please explain this further? Slimserver isn't responsible for IP
addresses. But if your players are in DHCP mode (automatic configuration)
then they can change IP address whenever they are restarted.

Settings / Information / Server Information / Host IP Address: 2
Settings / Information / Server Information / Total Players recognised: 10.0.0.100

Both are correct, except that they are interchanged. I've got 2 players and the host IP is 10.0.0.100 (fixed). Not a very important issue ofcourse

Bye

My Format String is ARTIST - TITLE (ALBUM YEAR) **
In previous settings, with the same GUESS TAG FORMAT STRINGS, the behaviour was more intelligent: ALBUM was left out is the tag was empty, the same for YEAR. (so I'd expect it to be empty, not 0 )
Even the ( and ) were left out when BOTH were empty.

Since I also have a few 'container directories' (not following the standard naming for the guess tags) the 'old' behaviour is much better. I'd still say it's a bug, not a feature

Bye
Peter

Can't reproduce here. Are you sure you're on the 6.5.0 official release?

Sure, Yesterday's one. I wouldn't waste too much time on it, though...I'm sure there are more important bugs to bother.

Yep, I've also been aware of the confusion between IP and number of players. I can't swear to it, but I think it was there in 6.3.1 also (I'm not going back just to check!).
