Sorry for this dumb question, do I put the .tar files in the update directory of the QNAP or do I extract them first? Then reboot the QNAP.

Just put the .tar file in the update folder in the Public share and reboot the TS-101

I thought so, its not working for some reason. I've checked the updater text file, and all the updates that you must have put on when you supplied it are there. But the 6.3.1 and All in one for 6.3.X that I have uploaded arent updating.

I put these two files in the update directory:

Then turned it off, waited a minute and turned it on again.

Am I missing something?

Ok, can you tell me which version of Slim Server you currently have running on your TS-101 please?

SS is version 6.2.2. The QNAP was supplied around Aug 20. It works fine!

If its of interest the error document says this: mkdir: cannot create directory `/opt/slimserver': File exists

Don't worry about that error message.

Ok, make sure there are no files in the update folder in the Public share and download from www.progressiveav.com/ts101_update the All In One Update (second one down) - don't use Internet Explorer to download it as it will not get the extensions correct. Download the file in to the update folder and reboot. If this installs correctly then you can then download the SlimServer 6.3.1 update from the same website (except this time you can use IE).

I seem to remember that when we built that batch at the end of August we didn't have time to update the server with the new update files (we did 50+ installs in one day).

I took delivery of my QNAP on September 7. I went with the 'All in One' update prior to loading the SlimServer 6.3.1 and plugins updates. I had no problems going this route and SS 6.3.1 has been up and running for several days.

Works perfectly in 6.3 now. Thanks.
