is there a way to put the remote control and screen on a macbook or 3rd party remote to better see the music library from the listening seat (read, lazy couch potato, or, to busy making out to get up to read SB) :-)

As in the Olive remote.

Thanks in advance

You can use the web interface. IMHO it offers the best view of your library.
You can also use softsqueeze with the shadow play plugin.
I believe someone has also made a mac widget to control SB's.

@tomjtx: Did you mean the Sonos remote? I never noticed it before, but at the Olive web site there's no sign of any remote, which I find odd. Anyway, in addition to wr420's suggestions, you can also use a wifi-capable PDA or web-tablet like the Nokia770 to see your library and control the SB. There are skins specially developed for these devices, plus the slimremote app for PDAs.

"too busy making out to get up to read SB" but not too busy to read a macbook or remote? Nah, I won't go there.... <g>

Thanks for the info.
My SB is linked to my desktop e-mac, I can use it to control SB. I would like to use my new macbook to do same. It dosn't recognize my SB.

I am a rather illiterate computer user so please excuse these basic questions.

I am a literate and professional classical guitarist so if you have any questions about that I might have something minimally intelligent to say :-)

OK, exactly how does your desktop eMac control the SB? I would guess
that you use a browser (Safari?) on the eMac and put the url in the URL
field that looks like
http://something:9000/

If so, what is "something" on your eMac?
And if you enter exactly the same thing on your macLap, what happens?
Exactly as you can

So suggest a few CDs that belong in the library of anyone who
appreciates good classical guitar. I've got a couple of guitars, and I
hack around on them, but I'm not even a good amateur.

Got the macbook to operate the SB.
I hadn't put the emac's ip in.
Works great. All this info was in the manual, so sorry for the bother.
I do think SD should sell a remote like the Sonos or Olive.
I think it would be popular.

Maybe I'll have to get the Nokia

Thanks again
