Sean took a trip to the Gizmodo offices and gave a nice demo of
Transporter, which they videotaped and posted on their site via YouTube.

Check it out here:

Looks good - and I hope that choosing a track called "Weirdo" to show off parts of the GUI was a deliberate joke ;)

The second left hand screen was stage left, correct? :) Seriously though, Transporter does look really cool. I wish I had the money and the hearing ability to enjoy it.

Are those Audioengines yours or theirs?

The A5's are ours but we are in close contact with AudioEngine as they are local and generally good guys.

I haven't heard the speakers, but they're supposed to have a fantastic sound. Think you could get me a discount? (You don't have to answer here. Just send me a PM.) ;-)

They do sound great but unfortunately we can't help with a discount. Contact them directly and say we sent you . . they *might* do you a deal

The link did not work for me, and the Gizmodo site was horribly slow, so I found the videos on youtube.

Looks very nice, except I would have to start worrying about my 2 year old playing with the buttons and knob. Any chance of a clean front plate version? Maybe with a scroll wheel on the remote.

My mind is reeling at the idea of a two thousand dollar rack-mountable
piece of audio gear that's placed anything but temporarily in a location
where a two year old could pull off the knobs. :-)
