Hi! I tried to stream 24 bit 96 khz WMA Lossless and it is played ok in Squeezebox.
Then I tried the FLAC version of the same file, Squeezebox plays it but not correctly, it sounds very slow.
I tried some Format Settings in SlimServer.

This did not help.

My question is :
1. WMA Lossless 24 bit 96 khz is decoded at Squeezebox as it is without downconverting it ?

2. How to solve FLAC 2496 problem ?

Thanks.

Officially, the Squeezebox does not suppport 96 kHz playback, so it's interesting WMA works. Actually WMA is not native, it gets transcoded to either WAV or FLAC. Since you indicate FLAC doesn't work, maybe 24/96 WAV does?

Check here: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=26715 and you'll see that in some setups, 48 and 96 kHz gets resampled to 44.1 kHz. There's a bug created for that issue, might want to vote on it.

Thanks Mark.
I thought so. Does Transport support 2496 ?

Yes, Transporter does support FLAC 24/96. I am going to look at WAV playback today.

The Squeezebox hardware does not support 96kHz playback, but WMA Lossless will work as it is converted into 44.1 FLAC by the slimserver before being streamed to the player.

I think that on Transporter WMA Lossless 24/96 will be streamed at 44.1 (as on Squeezebox). Please raise a bug at http://bugs.slimdevices.com if it is important for you that the sample rate is not converted (attaching an example file will help).

WMA and WMA Voice, but not WMA Lossless yet.
