It has been a few weeks since Paul's last update and just wondered if there is anymore news on the QNAP slave or external sata disk connection?

Also information on the TS-102 would be good :)

There was also talk early on about the possibility of upgrading the memory in them. What happened with that?

No news on the external sATA box yet. I will get an update.

TS-201 - our first stock will be with us around the 1st week in September. I haven't confirmed the price on it yet though but expect it to be around 30 - 50 more expensive.

Thanks Paul I'll look forward to the update on the SATA drive cage.

Does the TS-201 bring anything in addition to the 101 other than an extra disk?

UPnP Media server as well built into the firmware. This might flow over to the TS-101 as well though.

TS-201 will have a fan as well because passive cooling on 2x HDD's is not going to happen in a small box any time soon.

Thanks

Hi Paul,

Can I put in a vote for the UPnP sever to flow into the TS-101 please as I have just bought one from www.Ripcaster.co.uk and really could do with that feature as well :-)

Thanks

For those in a rush, the evil Maplin do an eSATA enclosure for 30.

Any one of the above I guess....I'm still waiting for a response to my 'shortcut' question. I can see me returning the drive at this rate.

As Matt pointed out Paul is on paternity leave.

Guess now we know just how much effort he has put in in the past.

Slighlty worrying that he was the only contact and worried with the launch date of the Slimserver being 18th when the version will be QNAP packaged. Maybe my choice of a closed system was the wrong one

When I am on leave from my job, it is covered - why isnt this the case here ? I guess you can only judge a company by it's service, not it's promises.

Why don't you call Progressive if you have an urgent issue, as far as Paul is concerned if he is on paternity leave he is not going to care what goes on here until he is back from that leave. And neither should he.

Give Paul (& Progressive) a break and lets introduce a sense of balance into the equation! He has really moved the project along since the TS101 was introduced. I think overall the support has been good and substantially better than Dell, Dixons, PC World to name a few of the retailers I have cause to tangle with in recent times.

I've had an email confirming (as David said) that Paul will be back in the office on Monday.
