I just got a Squeezebox 3 yesterday and although I had some slight issues setting it up, once I got it working I have been very happy with the sound. Currently have it set up:
Computer in other room sending FLAC > Squeezebox 3 digital out > Panasonic SA-XR57 > Energy Veritas 2.4i

I wish there were a faster and more "user-friendly" way to scroll through my music library. I was contemplating getting a laptop to put in the living room dedicated to music browsing. Hopefully I'll find a cheaper solution.

You can use pretty much anything with a web browser.

The Nokia 770 web pad has a specifically designed skin which is available in Slimserver 6.5 beta, and works well. There is also a skin and some native apps for PocketPCs

Welcome!

You might want to have a look at using the Lazy Search plugin, if you haven't already...

Anything with a web browser? That's pretty cool! If I'm not mistaken, the Nintendo DS is getting an Opera browser, and it would definitely be nice to use my DS-lite to control the Squeezebox.

Thanks for the welcome! I'll definitely check out the Lazy Search plugin. Hell, I'll do it now :)

There has been a little discussion about creating a custom skin for the DS when the Opera cart is more readily available. Have a search through some old posts :)

bear in mind though that some browsers/devices handle this better than others.
