Recently, after getting an Ipod, I started to fool with headphones and stumbled on the AKG K701. Now I'm hooked and if my home system blew up I could live with it. Any check this out...

Imagine a portable, battery powered, squeezebox with a decent built in headphone amp!Think of the possibilities.
Currently the V3 can delivery mega buck transport bit perfect data streamed over the ethernet and has a very respectable DAC. It' s main weakness is the powersupply. A battery would do nicely to fix that and provide portability around the house. Add a decent headphone amp and ....hmmmm The possibilities are endless.

I know about the redwine mod. I mean something that is portable and could be worn at the hip.

Why wouldn't you just use your iPod for that?

Squeezebox on the hip? Hmmm, you need to get in touch with the guy that
posted that because the stand looked like a handle, that made it a portable
unit. Therefore, when you drop it, the vacuum display shouldn't break. It
was a "design flaw" which was discussed at great length and with at times,
great hilarity. :)

As long as you don't walk too far away from your router/access point...
