Hello All,

Got a problem with my SliMP3 player. It has been running just fine for the last months and I changed exactly: nothing.
It just happened overnight.

This is what's happening:

When I turn it on, sometimes there's complete giberish on the screen, no way to get it out of that anymore, but to disconnect & connect the power plug. in that specific order :-) Then, when I'm in luck, it boots fine, and i'm able to browse my music. But as soon as i select something to play, it simply resets itself.

This is my setup:

P4 3,4 Gig /w 2 Gig RAM
SlimServer 6.3 (the official released one)
1 SB3, firmware 48
1 SliMP3 player, firmware 2.3

There's no problem with MP3 streaming, as I double checked this with my SB3, selecting only MP3 formats in the SlimServer FileTypes; the SB3 runs just fine, the SliMP3 still isn't.

Also, when I press the brightness button during startup of SliMP3, I get into bootloader mode just fine. (what's this for anyway?)

Anyone any idea, what-so-ever, what's going on?
Any way i can re-flash the SliMP3 player, to see if that helps the problem?

Any help would be greatly appreciated :-)

Sounds to me like the firmware's corrupted somehow. Reflashing is
probably a good idea, see:

I was happy when i read that i could easily do an update.
So I tried....

right after the firmware update, i was holding my breath, but i'm sorry to say, it didn't help.
Although the giberish after startup seems gone, problem when trying to play music remains the same: the player reboots immediately.

Anyone any suggestions what i can try next?
