On a fresh install of SlimServer Version: 6.3.1 - 8476 - Linux - EN - iso-8859-1, I can't connect to radiostations that worked fine with version 6.2.2.

Streams in MP3 runs perfect but the ones in WMA gives me the following error: "PROBLEM: CAN'T CONNECT TO SERVER FOR"

The file type Windows media is ticked by default in SlimServer.

If you're running version 6.3.1 I would really like to know if you can play the following streams on SB3.

mms://wmscr1.dr.dk/e02ch03m

Hi!

I don't know about version 6.3.1 [I'm running 6.3.0, on win xp], but the adress for P3 is as far as I know

mms://sr-wm.qbrick.com/02038_SR-P3-High

and that is working for me. Check out this page

http://www.sr.se/cgi-bin/mall/artikel.asp?ProgramID=2321&Artikel=787720

There you have the adresses for all the web radio channels of swedish national radio (page in swedish, but since you're danish that won't be a problem...?). Both real audio and windows media.

Thanks for the tip.

Changing the URLs to the ones on the website you gave me solved the problem with the Swedish channels.

Changing the URLs for the Danish channels to the ones given at this site:
http://www.dr.dk/netradio/wmp.asp

Did the trick halfway..... Starting anyone of these streams from the SB3s doesn't work but starting them from SlimServers webinterface works fine. I'm puzzled!!!!

What further puzzles me is that every single one of the previously used URLs works fine when started from a Windows Media Player on one of the PCs on my LAN, but not from eighter SlimServer 6.3.1 or SB3 where they worked fine with SlimServer 6.2.2.

There was an issue in 6.3 where Slimserver would test port 80 on mms url before trying to connect. mms uses port 1755 and so on some stations this test would fail if site did not have an associated port 80 (http port). I thought it was fixed in 6.3.1

Could you try this theory by adding ":1755" onto the failing mms URLs after the IP address such as mms://wmscr1.dr.dk:1755/e02ch03m

I just notised that in the SlimServer webinterface when selecting radio streams the Danish streams from the website I mentioned above results in three entries in the current playlist listed in the right side of the browser window.

All other radio streams only result in one entry in the playlist.

Could this be a bug in the SlimServer software or is it more likely related to DR streaming invalid data?

Unlikely - there are probably 3 URLs in the playlist URL you entered. Please post an offending URL with multiple entries so I can check.

Try this one:

This is the ASX files associated with thre URL you sent and you can see there are playlist entries delimited by <Eentry> and </Entry>. Each entry looks like same content but has a different URL - perhaps mirrors for load sharing.

Thanks.

So instead of going for an ASX file i chose to go for direct URL for the streams.

I found them here: http://www.dr.dk/netradio/afspillere.asp in the column "Linux/Flip4Mac".

Using these URLs also solved the problem I had starting the streams from the SB3s.

Now it works like a charm.
