View Full Version : The right way to make MP3s for the Slimserver???

Some time ago, I used Free Rip and created some mp3's of my CDs. Recently I
discovered EAC to pull the WAV's off of my CDs and used winLAME to convert
to MP3.

I put both the old FreeRIP mp3s and the new EAC/winLAME mp3s on a newly
working Slimserver (I don't own a slimp3 player yet, I'm streaming to
another computer in the house for now with Winamp).

On the Slimserver, when I "browse music" the folders containing music
created with Freerip show up as "albums" but the folders containing music
created with EAC/winLAME only show up under "no album."

I can only guess that I've got a flag set wrong somewhere in the
EAC/winLame process. (I'm also assuming that this is ultimately a superior
method for making Mp3s to the FreeRIP route If I can only get the flags
right)....

Can anyone help or suggest another approach?

Thanks,
Mark

Writing is easy. All you do is stare at a blank sheet of paper

Looks like EAC/winLAME isn't populating the 'Album' field of the id3 tag.
