Hi all,

MIPS Linkstation 250G, mipsel tools, Slimserver 6.3.1. All working so far! :)

alienbbc-linux-v1.05_6.2-3.tar, mplayer pre8 and latest live555. No problems building & installing. I followed the instructions at http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=17015 , though the following didnt mean much to me:

* Check that the Enabled optional drivers 'Input' section has 'live.com'listed.
* Check that the Enabled optional drivers 'Codecs' section has 'real' listed."

so I ignored them for the moment.

running mplayer without slimserver ( mplayer rtsp://rmlivev8.bbc.net.uk/farm/*/ev7/live24/radio1/live/r1_dsat_g2.ra ) works as expected, but CPU usage hits 90-97%.

slimserver runs fine with my MP3's, but accessing AlienBBC streams (live or listen again) pushes mplayer CPU usage to - well, everything slimserver isnt using. The audio is thoroughly broken up & keeps repeating the same clip every few seconds. (listening with SoftSqueeze)

Ive tried the "file=/dev/fd/4 $FILE$ 4>&1" mod to slimserver-convert.conf, and seperately tried lowering the resample rate. Neither has any effect.

Any suggestions, apart from eBay my MIPS box and get a PPC one? :)

regards ... Phil
