Multiple Sqeezeboxes for audio distribution system

    Hi all,

I've been looking through the details on the sqeezebox and it looks very
    interesting indeed.

I'm looking to set up a home audio distribution system - so possibly several
sqeezeboxes, hopefully with the ability to control them all centrally. Here
is what I am looking for:

Ability to play same music in several rooms - maybe one playlist in 3 rooms
and another one in 2 other rooms
If there is the same music playing in two adjacent rooms, I'd obviously like
the rooms to be in good sync - no time delay
Ability to control all this from one central point - Set sync's from one
place. Does the slimserver allow such control?

I was just wondering if somebody could give me any ideas on this area, and
how suited the sqeezebox/slimserver is for it.

One more question: Can the WIFI antenna be turned horizontal to the
squeezebox unit, or can it be removed if the WIFI reception is good enough?

It looks like a really cool piece of kit.

    Thanks for any assistance,

    Richard

CAn't answer for the squeezebox, but have done this with the SLimp3. I have
got them in 6 rooms in the house. You can synchronise into groups either
from the remote or from the web interface centrally.

No problem - synchronization works in "groups", any member can join or
leave the group at any time. So you can have two units in one group and
three in a another if you want, or link all five together.

The sync is within about 5 milliseconds. Usually less than the distance
      between your speakers.

Yes, from the web interface (acessible from any PC in the house) you
      can control any room.

Yes, the antenna can be turned and tilted. There is a signal strength
indicator to help you optimize. You will not get a good signal without
      the antenna.
