When i am listening to an internet stream using SS 6.3 or 6.3.1 and i do a "Clear and Rescan" of my library, it stops my internet stream.

once it starts the scan, i can restart the stream... but this shouldn't be happening, right? shouldn't it know its an internet stream, and not stop it just to do a clear and rescan?

should i file this somehow on bugzilla?

Playlists in slimserver, including the current playlist, are stored in the database. If you wipe the database, the current playlist goes away. I can't say if this was intended, but it's not really unexpected. I also can't be sure it isn't already fixed in 6.5 builds.

whether or not to file...I've gotten the impression that there is not one single rule that anyone follows for filing, so might as well go ahead. Preferrably at this point, I'd expect that 6.3.1 is a dead end, so trying 6.5 before filing a bug would be a recommendation, if you are up for trying it.

ah, i see, so that explains it. still, i don't think it should happen.

might i ask that someone running the beta tries this out, and posts back to the thread if this is still an issue? i have a serious anathema to beta software.

i consider this minor, but it would be a nice thing to fix.

hey kdf... i just thought of something...

you say the current playlist is in the DB and goes away. surely thats true, as thats my problem, but what about my list of playlists? (i actually have only made one, for that stream), but its still there. so its a file outside of the db then?

i guess this means can SS be taught to not clear the current playlist from the DB if the playlist is an internet stream, yes?

just thinking out loud...

yup. stored on disk, read back in during scan.

perhaps. but, that does mean knowing the type for each item in the
current playlist at the time of the "wipe" that would no longer
actually be a "wipe".
might be simpler to allow the current song to keep playing, if
playing. Given that 6.5 launches a separate scan process, it is
certainly not impossible, and could already be the case. I haven't
tried it, and am unlikly to have time to run off and try today.
Perhaps ask on beta forum where more ppl are using the beta.

I'm subscribed to the beta forum, so I've seen the thread. It would
seem you have your answer from Dan.
