I'm trying to figure out how the random mix mode works.. is there a way for me to define how many tracks should be included into the playlist - I think now it's only 12 tracks..

Also, is there a way for the player to jsut load all my music into a playlist, and play them randomly ?

(I'm using slimserver 6.2.2)

At the top of every list in the browse interface is an All Songs option --
play that one, and hit the random button. Be aware that if you have a lot of
songs, it will take a long time to put together the list and start to play
them. During this time, the Squeezebox and web interface will be
unresponsive. This is why the Random Mix plugin exists.

It automatically adds new random tracks to the end of the list each time
a track finishes. You can adjust the current size of the list at the
bottom of the Random Mix page in the Web UI.

You can do that (Jack already told you how), but it's very inefficient.

If you add/insert a song during the random mix is this supposed to cancel the playlist?

Occasionally (I've not worked out the pattern yet) mine seems to forget to add a track at the end and stops!

if you manually change the playlist, then the random plugin assumes
you have chosen to take control of the playlist. from the plugin,
here is the list of commands:

'clear' => 1,
'loadtracks' => 1, # multiple play
'playtracks' => 1, # single play
'load' => 1, # old style url load (no play)
'play' => 1, # old style url play
'loadalbum' => 1, # old style multi-item load
'playalbum' => 1, # old style multi-item play

When I use Random Album Mix, is there a way to jump from the currently played (random) album to the next random album without jumping through all songs of the current album? Sometimes I don't like the current album and I want to go fast to the next random album. I don't find a key on the remote to which this function is assigned.

If you have Random Album on a remote key, just press it again to choose
a new random album.

Here's an old thread I started which tells you how to assign keys
