Is it possible to mod the SB3 in order to get balanced output?

The balanced output would be ideal for feeding the DBX 234 3 way stereo crossover that I use with my DIY three-amp speakers.

So far I have used a Yamaha DC player (soon to be replaced by a SB3) as a direct input to the DBX crossover. The DBX crossover drives two Audiosource Amp3 (Mid- Woofer) and one Audiosource Amp2 (Tweeter).
I have to say that the inexpensive DBX 234 does it job very well, who new that professional gear was so good for the money.

BTW did anybody try the PDC-2.6P-Preamp with the SB3 digital output? It seems to me that this would be the way to go for tri-amp (but much more $).

Sure, insofar as it's possible to convert the signal to balanced with a pair of op amps...

If you're asking if balanced signals already exist internally, coming off the DAC for example, the answer is no.
