Sad news.

Strange that Syd Barrett's death would make such an impression, considering how long he was in reclusion (30+ years-?). But he was a special musician, and he is missed.

Years ago I spoke to Twink (of the Pink Fairies) about the fiasco that was Stars and he definitely regretted that the experience put the final nail in the coffin of Syd ever playing live again.

I hope rather wistfully that this will be impetus for the Floyd to properly reform and do gigs consisting of the early stuff and 'Wish You Were Here' as a fitting memorial.

Alas, that would mean putting egos aside.. :/

It's too bad: Pink Floyd was one of those bands where the whole was far greater than the parts.
