Hello All, just took delivery of a ReadyNas NV, I've copied my music to the media share that is preconfigured, but am at a loss as to how to point slimserver at the share ?, I've tried using the ip address e.g. //192.168.1.45/media/Music, but slimserver reports "oops not a valid directory", anyone got any ideas ?

many thanks

Running slimserver 6.2.2
Fedora Core 5

This is Windows style. On Linux you'll have to mount the share before you
can access it. Use "mount -t smbfs..." to do so.

I thought the idea of having a NAS device was you don't need a computer to access it ?

The idea of a NAS is to have storage space available in the network -
Network Attached Storage. All the rest is trying to build a dedicated
server out of that storage server.

Or you could download the SlimServer install from Infrant and use the NV as the server. You then wouldn't need slimserver on your PC.

I would guess that the NV install of Slimserver would be preconfigured to get find your music in a particular location (probably the one you copied your music to anyway)
