Hopefully this is the appropriate forum for this question...

The Podcast browser works well for the podcasts I've tried with this exception:

Failed to parse <http://www.beyondorganic.com/podcast/beyondorganic.xml> unknown encoding at line1, col 30, byte 30 at /PerlApp/XML/Parser.pm line 187_

Juice downloads this Podcast without complaint.

Is this a known issue with Slimserver 6.2.2 - 6723 - Windows 2000 - EN - cp1252 or is the Podcaster's XML file malformed? Thanks.

Seems to have been one, yes. Reported as Bugs 2930 and 3183.
Marked as fixed as of April 30. Please try out the 6.3 nightly builds
available from the SD site and it should work for you. If not, please
let us know.

This is very similar to the problem I've been having with some of my feeds. Check out my post here:
http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?p=116074#post115962

SlimServer Version: 6.3.0 - 8050 - Windows XP - EN - cp1252

I should add that I'm running a different slimerserver version than I was when I initially reported that problem. Now the error I get with this feed:
http://www.afropop.org/podcast/afropop.xml
is
( mismatched tag at line 33, column 2, byte 804 at /PerlApp/XML/Parser.pm line 187 )

while the other feed that I reported an error with has since moved.

I think the beyondorganic error is not related to the other XML errors.

The beyondorganic Podcast header is as follows
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="windows-1252"?>

AFAIK - Slimserver currently only supports the following encodings in XML: UTF-8, ISO-8859-1, UTF-16 and US-ASCII - I think the windows-1252 is not supported especially as the error message says "unknown encoding at line1".

Per kdf's suggestion I installed SS 6.3.0 - 8070 and it does not complain about the windows-1252 encoding in the Beyondorganic Podcast header.

Thanks to all for your help with this issue.
