I had the same problem. I edited the service parameters in the control
panel for the Slim service and changed it to use the local system
account rather than the one it had defaulted to. Might be a more
correct way than that but this worked for me.

Just upgraded to slimserver on an XP box. Noticed it doesn't auto start
the service like it used to. I saw the password request during setup,
but left it as the one and only user account doesn't have one.

Also, any way to set the preferences for this list to give me a "Yahoo"
style digest, all emails pasted together, instead of all these damn
