coverart and thumbnail display...

ok, i'm still having problems figuring out how to get this cover art
situation worked out...

i've got a 200x200 image called "cover.jpg". i also have a full-size image
called "front.jpg". i'm trying to get the slimserver to show the cover.jpg
image in the browser and the href to open the front.jpg image.

this url shows up fine:

http://mothership:9000/music/%2fmnt%2fmp3%2fmp3-1%2fAdam%20Ant%20-%20Friend%20Or%20Foe%2f01%20-%20Friend%20Or%20Foe.mp3/cover.jpg

but this one does not:

http://mothership:9000/music/%2fmnt%2fmp3%2fmp3-1%2fAdam%20Ant%20-%20Friend%20Or%20Foe%2f01%20-%20Friend%20Or%20Foe.mp3/front.jpg

here's the error message:

The image

cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.

the http log file doesn't provide a good explanation as to what's going on.

any ideas? i'd really like to be able to view my cover art correctly. if i
can get the slimserver to display the large images, i can easily add some
perl to the skin to display the link to the large images. i'm just having
difficulty understanding how the cover art display works.

ok, I can help here :)

The URL is fixed. You can end it with cover.jpg or you can end it with
thumb.jpg. They are not direct links to the image, but instead tell the server
which of two possible images to call up. Te server looks inside the ID3 tag,
and for a list of filenames. What you can do is this:
use this URL for the cover art at 200x200
http://mothership:9000/music/%2fmnt%2fmp3%2fmp3-1%2fAdam%20Ant%20-%20Friend%20Or%20Foe%2f01%20-%20Friend%20Or%20Foe.mp3/thumb.jpg

then use this for full size:
http://mothership:9000/music/%2fmnt%2fmp3%2fmp3-1%2fAdam%20Ant%20-%20Friend%20Or%20Foe%2f01%20-%20Friend%20Or%20Foe.mp3/cover.jpg

Now, go into your server settings, under Interface. you will see a section for
Cover Art. tyep in teh filename you use for your full size image, then put in
the filename you use for the 200x200 images under Cover Art Thumbnail. Click on
"change" then refresh your browser. This should work.
