View Full Version : Sort-of dumb RPM questions

I'd like to patch the RPM .spec file to fix a problem with Fedora Core 5 (see my post today at end of this thread <http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=22911>, which probably belonged in this forum instead).

When I've built rpms before (I've probably built about thirty for fedora prior to FC5), I've had a spec file (not the .spec.build as I see browsing the svn tree).

If I checkout from svn, how do I set up and build the rpm? It seems somewhat nonobvious to me, as usually I've done this when the .spec is in the source tree or when I've gotten it from an SRPM or when I've written it myself.

Sorry if the question seems basic... I just want to make this as quick and painless as possible.

Thanks.

Al - check out the makerelease.pl script at the top level of the tree.
