I know there are threads on Shoutcast problems, but there may be more to it than simply a problem with Shoutcast servers...

I've been running my SB2 on the SqueezeNetwork for many months (since Nov 05) without connecting to Slimserver. Today, I decided it was time to look at updates to Slimserver and possible firmware updates. I downloaded Slimserver 6.2.2 which also included a Firmware update (v48). Minutes before the update, Shoutcast was working fine. Immediately after the update, I get an error "ERROR: CAN'T OPEN REMOTE URL" whenever I attempt to connect to any Shoutcast station.

As far as I can tell, the last Slimserver upgrade I downloaded was the nighly release from 19 Nov 05...and until a few minutes ago, Shoutcast was working fine.

Shoutcast and all the other radio stationes aren't stored in your SB, but
on the server. Your SB doesn't do much more than (dis-)play what the
server sends. Do you have the same problem with other stations, too? Are
these stations stored in favorites? Shoutcast did completely change the
external directory access (which is used by slimserver/squeezenetwork)
which made some urls invalid. But this is independant of the firmware.

I'm running into the same problem, and it's only shoutcast streams which don't work when i connect to squeezenetwork :/

Could you please answer the same question then: have you stored these
stations as favorites?

It does seem broken, I will look into it.

The problem appears to be on Shoutcast's end. Sometimes it works,
sometimes not. Classic signs of an overloaded server.

It seems that the Shoutcast stations are now OK. Not sure why they work now and not before. It seems quite odd that the exact time I perform a firmware upgrade, Shoutcast goes down...maybe I should buy a lotto ticket...

To answer some of the questions...
With SqueezeNetwork, there is no need to ever connect to slimserver. With the SB2, I can connect directly to the SqueezeNetwork withour first going through a PC with Slim Server. This is the primary reason I upgraded from SB1 to SB2. I don't have any stations stored as favourites.
