View Full Version : Possible to disable wireless in SB3 wireless model?

I'm considering picking up another SB3 for a bedroom, but the bedroom also has wireless video receiver which has proven to be sensitive to *some* wireless devices (seems worse with 802.11b but only tested with two devices). I'd prefer to purchase a wireless SB3 in case either 1) I get lucky and it doesn't interfere with the video receiver or 2) I decide to relocate it in the future.

Can anyone confirm if it is possible to entirely disable the wireless radio in this model if it should interfere with the video receiver?

Thanks all,

Tom

If you are prepared to open the SB3 up, you can completely remove the wireless card by unclipping the antenna connections and releasing the spring clips. The card then just pulls out.

The SB then thinks it's wired ;-)

When you run the unit in wired mode, the wireless card is completely
powered down.
