Hi,

After my SB3 has been playing of a bit, the brightness automatically dims. This makes it difficult to read the RSS feeds. How can I make it so it doesn't dim?

Thanks for any help,
grimholtz

idle brightness setting in player settings
you can also set it to only manual brightness adjustments.

Sure. The next time this happens, press the BRIGHTNESS button to
adjust it to the level you want. That will set the dim level for
when the player is idle. (Similarly, pressing the BRIGHTNESS button
when it's not idle or when in standby/off will adjust the brightness
settings for those modes.

Thanks! Does brightness affect the life of the display?

Does brightness affect the life of the display?

Theoretically yes, but we're probably talking reducing the life of the VFD from something like 15 years to 10 years. In 10 years, the SB3 will be hopelessly obsolete.

The first SliMP3s produced back in 2001 are still going strong.
