I wanted to demo my squeezebox at my friends house, but I forgot one thing.

Is there a way to get the sb3 connected to the slimserver without the remote?

I'm guessing not.

Maybe there could be a default setup procedure: if there is only one local netwrok and one slimserver then connect to that?

Well you could get it to connect automatically if you configured it exactly as it would be configured at your friend's place - same IP address scheme, SlimServer on a machine with the same network name, same encryption, etc. Definitely tricky.

It'd be easier to find a JVC DVD player remote, or a universal remote that can replicate a JVC DVD player remote.
