Thanks for your reply.
Just checked, using the YoDJ apache PHP scripts--when served from
apache, a AIFF stream at URL http://localhost/Music/song.aif plays just
fine in iTunes. Did the same experiment for a WAV stream. So it does
look like if the server just returns a file with the right suffix,
iTunes will read the stream correctly. Is there any (relatively) easy
way to get SlimServer to name its stream URL differently?
