I just wanted to start a thread on this to see if anyone has similiar
problems that we can discuss.

When I play internet radio playlists, like from shoutcast, my cpu usage for
slimsvc.exe climbs to 99%, the music skips also, mostly because of the cpu
problem and stays till i stop the playlist. I'm using
Windows Server 2003 with a Netgear wireless router.

Example of my playlist file:

[playlist]
numberofentries=1
File1=http://205.188.245.132:8038
Title1=Monkey Radio: Grooving. Sexy. Beats.
Length1=-1
Version=2

Thanks for your help.

Jacob

What version of Slimserver are you using? If its not the latest nightly, you
should try that and see if it improves anything.

I'm using a Linksys BEFW11S4, Mandrake Linux 9.2, with the latest server from
cvs. CPU usage sits at about 5% with two slimp3's synced and squeezebox
connecting to internet radio using the playlist you supplied. There HAVE been
recent issues with the way Windows handles streams, partly becuase their spec
doesn't quite match what is going on in the OS. More recent nightlies have been
targetted at fixing that.
