itunes playlist causes V5.0 to refuse to play

I am having the same problems as zanbo in getting the server to start
without a password as it assumes no password means do not run at
startup. Anyone have any ideas?

Also, is there a way to have the server running as a system service
without having to log on, as in previous versions?

We'll be fixing this in the next release.

In the mean time, you can install the service from the command line:

cd C:\Program Files\SlimServer\server

slimsvc.exe -install auto
net start slimsvc

Should do it. It will be running under the System account. If you
want to run it under another account, open Control Panels ->
Administrative Tools -> Services
and find SlimServer. Then right-click and get properties and edit the
Log On tab.
