Any recommendations for an inexpensive receiver? It just needs to take a signal from the SB2 and a stone age CD player and drive a powered subwoofer and a pair of bookshelf speakers.

What's your price range? New or used or no dfference? Do you need a tuner or could you use just a 2 channel amp? You could get this Onkyo from CC for $176. Check it out http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Onkyo-Surround-Sound-Receiver-TX-SR303-/sem/rpsm/oid/120212/catOid/-12949/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do

I agree with the Onkyo suggestion. They tend to sound better than anything in their price range. This one is pretty compact and sounds great (a friend has one).

That Shop Onkyo site is worth a browse.

Sonic Impact T-amp. $20.

As long as you don't need a ton of volume. But does produce plenty for a bedroom or small living room. And at $20 it's worth trying.

I have an Onkyo I don't use anymore sitting on my office floor. Make me an offer :)

I've got both a sonic impact t-amp (the tiny one, be sure to also
order the power brick as it doesn't include one) and an Onkyo
tx-sr303. both are cheap and work great (use froogle to find a refurb
onkyo). the onkyo is a full tuner+amp with multiple inputs that would
do what you want.

Thanks. I think I'll pop over to Circuit City and grab the -303. (It will be replacing a ten-year old TX-SV424.)

Slightly OT, but what speakers are folk here using with the Sonic Impact T-Amp?

If you're willing to brave the audiophile forum, there are a few (including mine) listed in this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=22678
