Bob,

If it's been a long time since you upgraded the server software, you
may also need to update the SLIMP3 firmware.

Power-cycle the SLIMP3 and look in the lower right corner of the
display as it's starting up. It should say "2.2". If not, you need to
upgrade.

Sean,

As mentioned my previous email, I also had trouble getting the Player
to play after upgrading to 5.0. I had the current firmware. In my
case, restarting the machine (Mac G4) did the trick.

FYI.

Hate to me a 'meetoo' but 5.0 won't play streaming stations for me. Local
playback works fine, but when I try to bring up Radio Paradise, I get this in
the log (d_remotestream, d_stream, d_stream_v, Gentoo 1.4 on Athlon XP 1900+,

The progress bar in the new'n'improved Fishbone skin goes across once, and
then the display changes to "stopped".

Now that log *looks* like a normal stream reception, but I'm not hearing a
peep.

Back to 4.2.6, I guess. It still works fine.

The progress is a bit of a fake, since it can only guess at the time remaining
based on the estimated song length. For streams, its clueless. Its not
directly related to the playback. For streaming, however, it will move to 100%
over the course of one refresh cycle (default 30s). The timing for the refresh
is now a server setting.

I am having the same problem with streams, but can't hep with debug there as I'm
stuck under a pile at work :)

Well, as long as I'm not alone...

This box is a fresh Gentoo install, so I don't have a packet sniffer on yet.
but the switch lights *looked* like packets were moving.
