View Full Version : still having problems with firmware 41

Hi,

I've been running firmware 41 for a couple days. Played the SB2 for
many hours yesterday with no problems, but this morning in only a half
hour it has hiccuped once and then a couple minutes later stopped
playing. Nothing in the log file, and by the time I got over to the
player, it was just in the stopped state and I hit play and restarted
it.

I'm using a Linksys WRT54GS router, with WEP 128 bit, am not
broadcasting the SSID, and have restricted the allowed MAC addresses.

I did find this in the log file, the time is not right for this
incidence but it does seem to indicate a problem:

I have seen the same issues with FW41. It's much better - I don't get stuttering, but my reported signal strength does seem substantially lower using FW41 compared to FW28.

I'm running 6.5, experiencing the issues on a SB3. Wireless via a Linksys Wireless-G ADSL Gateway with SRX200 (WAG64GX2), using WPA security.

I also noticed a drop in reported signal strength going from 37 to 41. And some of the old bi-modal signal strength behavior has returned.

The 37 signal strength is much closer to what my laptop sees in the same location.

However, 41 seems very solid in actual performance.

This is normally seen when you do a software upgrade as the client sends the "brightness" InfraRed command after the server thinks the client has disapeared to reboot. This message is not the cause of your problem..

yep. that is probably about when I upgraded to fw41.

I just noticed another thread, "Playback Stops Intermittently", on
this forum that sounds like the same issue I'm having.
