I just tried doing a fresh install of the latest beta (from 4/2) and
the server won't run. Where is the log file I can look at to find out what
is going wrong?

If windows, you might look in the event viewer to see if its crashing.

that would depend on the OS.
Windows: look in the event viewer
Linux: /tmp/slimserver.log
OSX: Library/somewhere

If nothing shows up, run command-line. That would be c:\program
files\slimserver\server\slim.exe for windows, slimserver.pl for the
others.

For completeness, as it may help others,

on my Mac, the log is in ~/Library/Logs.

I installed SlimServer for one user. If it is installed for all users, the log may be in /Library/Logs.

It can be read using the Console.
