AJAX is just a buzzword, though, referring to a combination of HTML,
Javascript, and some sort of data format (usually XML or JSON).

yes, it is. it is also the new messiah, depending on who you ask.
however, it is the buzzwords that people are asking for sometimes (also
shorter than saying Javascript and XML :)
From what I've read, it is also, apparently NOT meant to be an
acronym...but then that just starts to make the whole thing sound silly
