Hi all,

I have a problem with SlimServer:
I canīt connect to the local installed Slimserver on my PC on Port 9000.

The Windows XP internal Firewall is switched off, and the Slimserver is running.

If I click on "open Slimserver" the IE6 browswer starts with: http://localhost:9000/

but the result is "This site can`t be showed..."
What can I do?

Many thanks, Mathias

can you "ping localhost"? What about http://127.0.0.1:9000/?

There have been reports of Windows being unable to resolve localhost...
How does c:\program files\system32\drivers\etc\hosts look like?

Just for the record, I have on occasions (not consistently) found my Mac (Safari as browser) not resolving localhost.

Along with Michael's suggestion of http://127.0.0.1:9000, can you connect using the IP reference for the PC unit running Slimserver ? i.e. it will be something like http://192.168.0.101:9000
