Hi there!

I was just playing with the replaygain settings in slimserver and I am
missing the "default gain" setting for files without replaygain tags.
(See http://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=3152)

I tried to work on it myself but I can't quite get it to work.

As far as I understand the source, the function "ReplayGain" in
"Slim::Player::Source" would be the place where I would inject any
intended changes for replaygain.

What kind of value is this function supposed to return? The adjustment
in dB as float or a factor? (i.e. -6. or 0.5 for -6dB?)

For testing I removed all replaygain tag handling from the function and
returned a fixed value of "-30.1". But the playback volume did not
change at all.

I'd appreciate any help!

What version of SlimServer are you running? And what platform?

If you're running on Windows, you'll need to install ActiveState perl.

Ah, ok! Stupid me ;) Did not know the code was compiled _into_ slim.exe.
~ Thanks!
